What a time to be alive is the best statement to describe the birthday soirée we put together for our lovely client- La Patrona. Not only does she entrust us with her family’s events but always gives us full creative carte blanche. So to celebrate her birthday in beautiful South Africa we put together a Masquerade Soirée.
The weather allowing, we opted for a soirée on the terrace of an exclusive luxury boutique hotel overlooking Johannesburg. The team and I designed a table that was a mix of dark & moody with a personality of the Hostess herself- classy, bubbly, detailed and stunning.
We set up a berry blast palette of florals from lush peonies, phalaenopsis & cymbidium orchids, hydrangeas and tulips, all on soft grey linen. A various array of gorgeous vases that take one back to the ancient decades of Greek Gods & Goddesses. We incorporated some angel figurines accompanied by fresh fruit for a feast-table feel.

Mirror-finish welcome & birthday message boards on ornate easels proved to be the guests’ favs for selfies. The personalized stationery was carefully designed and crafted to set a tone but not loud enough to distract the eye from the detailed crockery and vintage cutlery, it was a masquerade after all- mystery was the order of the night.
The Hostess looked gorgeous in a bespoke red gown that suited her perfectly with a matching red mask, & what better way to match this stunner of a gown than with her red Valentino’s with gold detail. She was a vision & later changed into another bespoke hand beaded gown with pink Dolce’s to party the night away.

Guests were treated to Welcome champagne in the refreshing conservatory. It was an evening of sumptuous food, great company & bucket loads of champagne. The towering cake was matte black, gold detailing, red garden roses carefully placed with a mask as a topper and a golden ‘D’.

After dinner the guests danced the night away in an intimate lounge setting decked with plush dark & lush furniture. Safe to say everyone had a great time and appreciated the Hostess even more after giving them an unforgettable evening… and she topped it off with some boxed nougat as favours with personalised ribbon… from La Patrona!
